Doc Cebu is literally unstoppable this fall having just won his third straight timber finishing first in the $75,000 International Gold Cup Timber Stakes on Saturday, October 27. Hadden Frost was in the irons again this weekend for trainer Jack Fisher and owners Charles Fenwick, Jr., Michael Hankin and Charles Noell. The wet conditions in Virginia on Saturday didn’t seem to be an issue for the Maryland horses and riders as many topped races. Elizabeth Voss trained Renown, owned by Merriebelle Stable, LLC, to win the Virginia Equine Alliance Sport of Kings Maiden Hurdle. Renown was ridden by J Doyle.

Darren Nagle rode Katnap for owner Wits End Stable LLC and trainer William Dowling to win the Steeplethon Stakes. Nagle then won the next race, the Allowance Hurdle, aboard Irv Naylor’s Elucidation. Elucidation is trained by Cyril Murphy.

Rosbrian Farm’s Optimus Prime won the David L. “Zeke” Ferguson Memorial with Ross Geraghty in the irons for trainer Ricky Hendriks. Geraghty won again later in the day with Accountable for Lady Olivia North Cliff. Accountable, trained by Carla Morgan, won the Old Dominion Turf Championship.

Deposit, owned by Beverly R. Steinman and trained by Doug Fout, won the Maiden Flat with B. Foley on board. In the Filly & Mare Maiden Flat, Pathfinder Racing’s Shrove Tuesday finished first for trainer Neil Morris with M. Mitchell in the irons.
