The Washington International Horse Show returned the to the Prince George’s Equestrian Center for a week jammed packed with action! From local hunters to international jumpers as well as barrel racing and Shetland Pony races, WIHS had a lot to offer this year. The theme for this year’s WIHS Barn Night, presented by MARS, was “Washington Goes Western!” and local barns certainly got into the Western spirit.

St. Margaret’s Pony Club won Best Costume at this year’s WIHS Barn Night

The Overall Largest Group award went to Enticement Stables (Harwood) while Meadowbrook Stables (Chevy Chase) won the Overall Largest Maryland Group and Tamarack Stables earned Overall Largest Virginia Group. Bristol Equestrian Center (TN) won the Farthest Traveled Group award.

St. Margaret’s Pony Club won the Best Costume contest with their life size “wanted” posters and The Big Easy Farm won the Best Wanted Poster contest. Great Escape Stables LLC earned the Best of the West Video contest top prize while Allie Wolf earned first for the Best Decorated Reusable Water Bottle contest.
