On April 8, the Maryland General Assembly passed legislation to implement the Maryland Thoroughbred Racing Authority‘s (MTROA) “Pimlico Plus” plan. Sawdust raced 43 times for Stix-N-Stones Stables over four years before retiring in 2005. Now names Stardust, he was adopted by the Gillen family through Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue in 2006 and has been the family's mane trail horse for the past 18 years. He also is a great hunter pace horse and is currently teaching the family's newest OTTB Pep Talking the trail riding life. Read about Pep Talking later this month! ... See MoreSee Less

The Maryland General Assembly ended its 446th session at midnight on April 8. As usual, there was an intense flurry of legislative activity right up until the last minute, this year punctuated by a brief recess to allow lawmakers and staff to rush out doors, put on the special glasses, and view the solar eclipse.
