One Wild Punch has had many careers throughout his life. He started out at Penn National where he won twice for earnings of $21,692 before being retired and retrained as a show horse. "Thai" had a few homes after the track before ending up with Hailey Johnson of En-Tice-Ment Stables. Together they saw success on the local circuit in the hunter and equitation classes. His show career ended in 2017 due to being "accident prone" according to Johnson. Last year, while enjoying semi-retirement, one of the En-Tice-Ment lesson horses threw a shoe and Johnson pulled Thai out of the field to fill in. He quickly became a camp favorite and now teaches all ages of riders.

The Maryland General Assembly ended its 446th session at midnight on April 8. As usual, there was an intense flurry of legislative activity right up until the last minute, this year punctuated by a brief recess to allow lawmakers and staff to rush out doors, put on the special glasses, and view the solar eclipse.
