Yesterday, the Maryland Department of Agriculture confirmed a new case of West Nile Virus, this one in Queen Anne’s County.
The horse is a vaccinated, 20-year-old draft mare used for pleasure riding. She is symptomatic but alive.
This is the fourth case of West Nile Virus in Maryland this year and the first one on the Eastern Shore.
