Dr. Jennifer Trout told The Equiery today that Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVIs) are no longer required for intra-state travel.

As of today, February 1, Maryland’s equine import regulations require a valid Coggins test and a 30-day CVI, no EHV statement required.

The Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Animal Health website will be updated to reflect this later this week.

If you have questions in the meantime, please call the Office of the State Veterinarian at 410-841-5810.
