MHC individual member Judithann Hartman’s Severn Rainbow took home a big win yesterday at the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of American (WPCSA) Annual Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas — the WPSCA’s Welsh of the Year award!

Rainbow, as she is called, was bred by Mary (“Tiz”) Benedict of Severn Oaks Farm in Arnold, Maryland. She is owned by MHC member and pony breeder Judithann Hartman, and she competes in combined driving with MHC Vice-President (Land Use) Claire Lacey.

WPCSA offers educational programs for both youth and adult, and it maintains the WPCSA registry of Welsh ponies bred in the United States. In Little Rock this weekend, WPCSA presented Severn Rainbow’s breeder, Tiz Benedict with an Honorary Lifetime WPCSA Directorship in recognition of her many years dedication to the Welsh breed. Congratulations, all!
