Menfelt Adult Amateur Eventing Scholarship

The Menfelt Adult Amateur Eventing Scholarship is sponsored by Dale Clabaugh of State Farm Agency in Walkersville. The scholarship is named after the Menfelt Horse Trials, which were held at Woodvale Farm in Frederick from the 1990s through 2003. The scholarship honors the history of the horse trials and volunteerism by granting one adult amateur rider a $1,000 scholarship to help them achieve their eventing goals. The scholarship funds are to be used at Loch Moy Farm for entries and/or stabling.

Applicants must be a USEF/USEA Adult Amateur member competing at the Starter through Modified levels. Applicants must also volunteer at the Maryland Horse Trials of any Loch Moy event. Application deadline in March 10!

Merrylegs Junior Rider Scholarships

The Merrylegs Junior Rider Scholarships are geared towards diverse, young equestrians who are competing at a grassroots level. Scholarship recipients will receive a credit of $500 towards the Highland Series Horse Trials, Twilight Eventing, Pick Your Time/Test Dressage & Blue Ribbon Jump Round show entries and any schooling opportunities at Loch Moy Farm in Adamstown over the next year. 

The scholarship is open to Junior Riders ages 13-17 who are competing at the Elementary, Beginner Novice or Novice levels. Application deadline is March 10.

MAEF Academic and Seibel Scholarships

The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation (MAEF) is accepting applications for its 2025 scholarships now through March 25.

MAEF Academic Scholarship winners receive $1,500 to support their academic achievements and pursuit of careers in agriculture or Extension education. These scholarships are open to rising juniors or seniors in undergraduate programs or graduate students enrolled in majors related to agricultural education or Extension education.

The Seibel Scholarship is open to students enrolled in two-year or four-year degree majors at qualifying institutions that lead to careers in agriculture or agriculture education. The University of Maryland Institute of Applied Agriculture is on the list of qualified institutions. This scholarship was established by Dr. Ronald J. Seibel, a former educator and longtime director of the UMD Institute of Applied Agriculture.

USEF Higher Education Scholarships

U.S. Equestrian is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Higher Education Equestrian Scholarships program. The program awards five $1,000 scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors who intend to advance their equine knowledge or equestrian experience while in college.

These scholarships are open to U.S. Equestrian competition members and subscribers who are current high school seniors that are preparing to enter college full-time in the fall of 2025. Students from all USEF-affiliated breeds and disciplines pursuing any major may apply.

Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund Scholarship

Thanks to the generous donations of the Waredaca Eventing Education Foundation supporters as well as several organizers of Classic Three-Day Events across the country, WEEF announced in early March that the 2025 Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund Scholarship will once again be a nation-wide scholarship opportunity.

WEEF board members noted that for 2025, the closing dates for scholarship applications will be staggered to better suit the needs of riders and Classic Three-Day Event organizers. The deadline for Indiana, Coconino and Rebecca Farm is April 1. The deadline for Spokane is July 1 and the deadline for Hagyard, Waredaca and Ram Tap is August 1.

Scholarship winners will be awarded $1000 cash support to be used towards training and expenses related to competing in a 2025 USEA sponsored Classic Three-Day Event as well as a free entry to the Classic of their choosing.

Waredaca organizers have pledged two scholarships this year: one for an Adult Amateur and one for a Junior/Young Rider. Rebecca Farm has also pledged two scholarships for 2025: one for a Novice level competitor and one for a Training level competitor.

Maryland International CCI Scholarships

The Maryland International Equestrian Foundation (MIEF) will once again be awarding four $1,000 scholarships to riders wanting to compete at the 1*, 2*, 3* or 4* levels at the June Maryland International Horse Trials. The scholarship funds will used entry fees, stabling, travel costs, and other associated competition expenses up to $1,000.

Applicants must be USEA/USEF members in good standing and be qualified to compete at the CCI 1*, 2*, 3* or 4* level. Riders can apply for more than one scholarship as long as they are competing multiple horses. The application includes a video submission and letter of recommendation.

Mars Competition & Training Grants

Applications are now being accepted for the Jacqueline B. Mars National Competition and Training Grants. These grants are awarded annually through the USET Foundation with the goal of supporting the Eventing Pathways Program. Specifically, the grants are designed to assist athlete-and-horse combinations to achieve Pre-Elite or Elite Program criteria.

Tuckahoe Equestrian Center Scholarship

Tuckahoe Equestrian Center (TEC) is now accepting applications for its fourth annual scholarship program. Three $1,500 awards will be made to college students and graduating high school seniors who are studying equine, veterinarian, vet tech, or agricultural studies. Applicatants must also be a member of TEC.
