Sunday marked the conclusion of the 2017 Dutta Corp Fair Hill International with the show jumping phase for both the CCI2* and CCI3*.
Colleen Rutledge of Frederick found herself jumping into the ribbons in both divisions. With UNO in the CCI2*, she jumped double clean to move from tenth up to sixth. The 15.2 hand mare also earned the “Small But Mighty” award for being the shortest equine to complete the CCI2*. In the CCI3*, Colleen and Covert Rights were the last to jump as they went into the final phase in the lead. Unfortunately, three dropped rails in the middle of the course moved them down to tenth overall in the FHI competition and seventh in the — USEA CCI3* National Championship.
Tamra Smith of California jumped double clean aboard Sunsprite Syrius to win the CCI2* division. Canada’s Selena O’Hanlon jumped clean with three time faults to move back into first place to win the CCI3* division. Will Coleman (VA) and Tight Lines jumped double clean to win the CCI3* national championship.
As for the rest of the Maryland entries, Tayler Stewart had one rail down with Ideal Contini to finish in 20th place. Sidney Solomon and Easy Review C also had one drop railed but moved up to 28th. Grace Fulton and Wild Orange moved up to 35th with one rail down. Savannah Fulton finished in 41st with Brave New World and 43rd with Esstoga Tune after both horses dropped several rails.
