Welcome to your latest Rosecroft Raceway update! It’s been another thrilling week on the track, highlighted by a dominant four-race win streak, repeat performances in our co-features, and a historic maiden victory during our special “Grit and Grace” night.

Here is your wrap-up of the best action from Thursday, March 26, and Monday, March 30.

🔥 Unstoppable: Spring Blake Wins Fourth Straight

Spring Blake continues his incredible run, capturing his fourth consecutive victory in Monday night’s $12,000 Open Handicap Pace!

Driven by Russell Foster for owner/trainer Johnny Crites Jr., the 5-year-old ridgling rode the pocket behind fast early fractions set by J M Mandamin. After drafting behind middle splits of :54.4 and 1:22.3, Spring Blake re-emerged at the eighth pole and overpowered the leader by a measured length to stop the clock in a blistering 1:50.2. Layton Hanover finished third.

As the 1-5 favorite, Spring Blake paid $2.40 to win. He is now a 22-time career winner and has won an impressive six of his nine starts this season.

🌸 Grit and Grace: Pressel Breaks Driving Maiden

Thursday night featured the highly anticipated $6,000 “Grit and Grace” Women’s Invitational, and the event delivered an unforgettable milestone.

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Pressel registered her first-ever driving win in the first division! Pressel engineered the victory aboard All In Jest, a horse she also trains for Patty Moyher. Using a steady first-over ascent, Pressel overpowered the pacesetter at the eighth pole to secure a three-quarter length victory in 1:58.

In the second Grit and Grace division, Stacey McLenaghan rallied Lenda Hand Man from the pocket to edge pacesetter American Artist K by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:55.2 for trainer/owner Deborah Warnick.

🐎 Thursday Co-Features: Favorites Deliver Repeat Performances

Thursday’s $10,000 co-features for pacing mares and trotters saw both favorites live up to their billing with repeat trips to the winner’s circle:

  • Distaff Pace: Even-money favorite Phoenix Rising (driven by Corey Braden) seized early command and repelled a sustained challenge from 90-1 outsider D’applesrsweet. The mare held off a three-wide late challenge to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:53.1 for trainer and co-owner Franklin Gannon III.
  • Trot: Deadline Hall (driven by Jonathan Roberts) secured his third straight victory. As the 1-10 favorite, he claimed the lead after the first quarter, controlled the middle splits, and sprinted clear for a 2-length score in 1:55 for trainer/co-owner Michael Hall.

Driver Spotlight: Kyle Walters had a standout Thursday night, capturing two of the evening’s three Mid-Atlantic Drivers Club events with Bungalow Bill N ($5.80) and engineering a 9-1 upset with Everbridge ($20.60).

💰 Bettor’s Corner: Jackpot Hi-5 Hit Again!

The 50-cent Jackpot Hi-5 continues to deliver big payouts! The wager was hit for the second time in three cards on Monday night after R N B Band (driven by Frank Milby) rallied to a 1:50.4 win in the sub-featured conditioned pace. The winning 2-4-5-6-8 combination returned a handsome $3,559.85.
