🏆 Spring Fever Finale: Brother Dick Goes Wire-to-Wire

Monday’s 13-race program was headlined by the highly anticipated $16,800 Spring Fever Claiming Series Final, and Brother Dick made sure every pole was a winning one.

Driven by William Carter for owner P T Stable, Brother Dick made an early push to clear Blue Label through a :26.3 first quarter. He faced steady pressure from Capo Bovino through the middle splits before a three-wide challenge from fellow two-time preliminary winner Poseidon Deo on the far turn. The 8-year-old gelding held his ground stoutly, keeping Poseidon Deo a length at bay to score a 1:52.2 victory.

The win marks Brother Dick’s 31st career victory and his second in as many starts for trainer Bryson Dunning. He paid $4 to win as the even-money joint favorite.

🔥 Open Handicap Highlights: Spring Blake & College Tuition

The top pacing and trotting features of the week saw familiar faces returning to the winner’s circle:

  • Pacing Feature: In Monday’s $12,000 Open Handicap Pace, Spring Blake rolled to his incredible eighth win of the meet! Driven by Russell Foster for owner-trainer Johnny Crites Jr., the 5-year-old ridgling controlled the splits and held off pocket foe J M Mandamin for a half-length, 1:51.4 victory.
  • Trotting Feature: On Thursday night, Eric Foster’s homebred College Tuition set sprightly early fractions before holding off a two-pronged stretch challenge to post a 1:53.2 repeat victory in the $12,000 Open Handicap Trot. Driven by Russell Foster and trained by Courtney Foster, the 8-year-old gelding held off Inferno DK and Deadline Hall for his 30th career win.

🎩 Horsemen Spotlights: Robinson’s Double & Roberts’ Hat Trick

  • Here’s to You, Mr. Robinson: Eugene Robinson had a spectacular Thursday night, scoring an owning, training, and driving double! He captured two of the card’s three Mid-Atlantic Drivers Club events, using a first-over trip to win with Northern Network (1:56.1) and rallying M S Ingeneious from a pressured pace to score in 1:54.3.
  • Hats Off to Roberts: Jonathan Roberts continues to pad his commanding lead atop the Rosecroft drivers’ standings. He teamed up for three winners on Monday’s card, finding the winner’s circle with Rusty’s Lancelot, Fly High Cruiser, and Captain Max Henry.
