On April 26, 16-year-old Riley Wiltison of Oakland, MD, added yet another USEF Combined Driving title to his name. Wiltison, who was featured on the cover of our February 2021 issue, won the USEF Intermediate Single Pony Combined Driving National Championship at the Katydid CDE in Mill Spring, NC, driving Willow’s Aslan.
The pair earned a 56.28 in dressage with Wiltison stating, “I was very happy with him. He performed well and listened to me.” They then moved into the lead after winning the marathon phase with an 81.63. After a rest day, Wiltison and Willow’s Aslan went double clear in cones to finish on a score of 137.91 penalty points and earn the National Championship title.
