Maryland-bred Thoroughbred gelding Keys Discount (Medal Count x Divertimento (Rizzi)) won the $50,000 International Gold Cup Stakes in Virginia on Saturday, October 25th. This makes his second consecutive Gold Cup win and his fifth win in a row this year.
This victory comes on the heels of Keys Discount’s Brown Advisory Stakes win at Shawan Downs in September and his National Sporting Library and Museum Cup Stakes win at Middleburg on October 11. He has earned more than twice the money of his nearest competitor. He is the likely year-end leading timber-horse winner.
Keys Discount was bred by Bryan Minnich in 2019 and has been trained by Jack Fisher since 2024. Since then he has won 6 of his 8 starts.
Congratulations to jockey Graham Watters, the Fisher family, and all of his Keys Discount’s fans and connections.
