With the departure of longtime McDonogh School equestrian program Streett Moore, McDonogh announced in late December the hiring of the following new program members.
Bristol Craft has been named McDonogh’s Director of Equestrian Programs and will oversee all equestrian operations at the School. Craft has a background in business, teaching riding and equine management. She also has deep roots within the Maryland and McDonogh equestrian communities. Craft started her riding career at McDonogh when she was just seven years old. In 2013, she returned to the school as the Senior Equestrian Coach. In her new role, Craft In her new role, Craft will be leading the equestrian program staff for the school’s PE program, lesson program;, Middle School, junior varsity, and varsity teams, as well as its travel show team.
Outside of riding and training, Craft expanded and managed the retail equestrian consignment operations for three brick-and-mortar stores and supported their online growth. More recently, she was a Strategic Account Manager at Cargill Animal Health, where she utilized her expertise in animal nutrition to manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio.
Zach Parks, a highly accomplished rider and trainer has been hired to spearhead McDonogh’s training program and serve as Interim Director of Riding. Parks holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Studies with an emphasis on Equine Studies from Virginia Tech. He further developed his skills through an apprenticeship with Olympic Gold Medalist Joe Fargis and as Head Coach of the University of Virginia Equestrian Team, leading the team to Zones and IHSA Nationals. Parks is also the owner of Cadeaux Show Stables in Keswick, VA.
Gregg Frasier has been hired as McDonogh’s Manager of Barn Operations. Frasier has many years of experience in equestrian care and facility maintenance, having most recently worked with Holwood Farm where he was responsible for arena, farmland, and equipment maintenance. Previously, he was responsible for athletic fields and equipment maintenance at Stevenson University.
