On Tuesday, December 30, we submitted a Maryland Public Information Act request to the Maryland Stadium Authority for information regarding the departure of Terry Hasseltine. Our request read:

Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, we request documents pertaining to the departure of Terry Hasseltine from the Maryland Stadium Authority/Maryland Sports Commission, including but not limited to documents about the reason(s) for his departure, the timing of his departure, and the extent to which his departure may or may not have been related to the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill.

We also request documents regarding the state funds expended on the Maryland 5 Star during Mr. Hasseltine’s tenure, including expenses; amounts paid to independent contractors, consultants, and vendors; and amounts paid to governmental, quasi-governmental, and media/marketing agencies.”

Rachelina Bonacci, at the Maryland Stadium Authority acknowledged receipt of our request today, January 5th.

Also today, sources report that the Maryland Stadium Authority has disclaimed involvement in the Maryland 5 Star, despite the fact that Jeff Newman’s auto-response says that: “All inquiries should be emailed to Michael Frenz, Executive Director with the Maryland Stadium Authority.”

Lastly, our sources tell us that Cecil County is meeting today to discuss the future of the event at Fair Hill.

We will update this post as new information becomes available.
