All licensed horse stables in Maryland are invited to participate in the Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB)’s new “Equine Experience Center” program. Participating Equine Experience Centers  will be facilities that offer equine introductory programs for people with little to no experience with horses.

Explains MHIB Executive Director Ross Peddicord. “It is our intent to create Equine Experience Centers which are facilities or organizations that are certified to educate the public about the different aspects of the horse industry in Maryland and have a passion to share this interest in a safe, friendly and fun environment.”

In addition to promoting the horse industry by enticing more people to interact and spend time with horses, the Experience Centers will also provide more opportunities for stables to increase their revenue and profile. The program is entirely free and voluntary for organizations that become a part of it, but they will be required to meet certain standards.

Information sessions are open to all Maryland licensed stables. There is no charge to attend but registration is required. Lunch will be included. All sessions are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
