Earlier this month, the US Hunter/Jumper Association named Excel Star Mr. de Muze — owned and ridden by Mckenna O’Neil of White Hall, MD — as the Zone 3 1.20/1.25M Junior Jumper Horse of the Year.
O’Neil rode the 7-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding to victory in the 1.25M Junior/Amateur Jumper Championship at the Devon Fall Classic this year, besting a field of 21. The pair also won the 1.20/1.25 Zone 3 Championship (South) at the USHJA Zone Team & Platinum Team Jumper Championships at Tryon last July.
Excelt Star de Muze was bred in Ireland by Finnian McLoughlin. He is by I’m Special de Muze out of Little Miss Cruze (Cruising).
