West Nite Virus Recall

On April 28, Brett Whitehead, director of Equine and Ag Retail Business for Intervet Schering-Plough Animal Health, issued a letter to veterinarians announcing a voluntary recall of PreveNile West Nile Virus Vaccine. The recall is for specific serials (see list below) and was issued due to an “increased incidence of adverse events related to currently marketed serials.” The letter also stated that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Center for Veterinary Biologics were both informed of the recall.
