January Inter-school Shows

The Junior Varsity teams met on January 13 at Oatland Stables in Laytonsville for their second to last show of the season. Twenty-two teams were represented by 81 riders, all being judged by Lindley Reilly. The overall champion school for the show was North Bethesda. The reserve champion high point team was Connelly School of the Holy Child.

Here are the JV standings (up through sixth place) as of January 24, 2013:

  1. Connelly School of the Holy Child – 198 pts
  2. Academy of the Holy Cross – 181 pts
  3. North Bethesda – 179 pts
  4. Indian Creek – 154 pts
  5. Key School – 149 pts
  6. Wilde Lake – 124 pts

The Varsity teams entered the ring at NFF Stables in Poolesville on January 27 under the watchful eye of judge Heather Achen. The overall team champion was Key School with Archbishop Spalding earning the reserve. Eight-eight riders competed for 19 teams.

Here are the Varsity top six as of January 28, 2013:

  1. Archbishop Spalding – 213 pts
  2. Connelly School of the Holy Child – 203 pts
  3. Key School – 145 pts
  4. T.S. Wootton – 135 pts
  5. Poolesville HS/John Poole MS – 130 pts
  6. Glenelg/Glenwood – 111 pts

The ISHS is taking a short break for the month of February and will resume in March with the last regular season show. The top riders from each division will then be invited to the annual Invitational shows in April.
