Pictured on this month’s cover is Stephanie McNutt riding Emalina at the Potomac Valley Dressage Association Ride for Life, held at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro this past June. This year’s benefit show raised $60,000 for the John Hopkins Breast Center. Over the last 16 years of the Ride for Life show, competitors have raised over $898,000 for the Breast Center.
In addition, over $7,000 for Alzheimer’s research has been raised in the past two years at the PVDA Schooley Mill schooling shows in honor of Linda Speer’s late husband Will Speer.
The Ride for Life show is the brainchild of breast cancer survivor Patricia Artimovich and this year, PVDA nominated her for The Equiery’s first annual November Giving issue.
