TomVossOne of Maryland’s icons of steeplechase racing, Tom Voss, died unexpectedly late Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at his Monkton home, Atlanta Hall. The five-time National Steeplechase Trainer of the Year, two-time Maryland Hunt Cup winner, and Master of the Elkridge-Harford Hounds was only 63 years old. The cause of death is undetermined.

Voss is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edward S. Voss, his wife Mimi, son Sam Voss, daughter Elizabeth Murray, stepson Matthew McKnight and grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Episcopal Church, 3100 Monkton Road, Monkton, MD 21111.
