On October 13, Maryland horses swept the big races at the Genesee Valley Hunt Races in Geneseo, New York.

Eddie Keating rode the Katherine Neilson trained Ardrahan for owner Irv Naylor to win the Maiden Timber by just a half of a length over Bonnie Rye Stables’ Enuff Alex, ridden by Bethany Baumgardner for trainer Julie Gomena.

Next up was the Genesee Valley Hunt Cup Timber Stakes, which was won by Charles C. Fenwick, Jr.’s Doc Cebu. Trainer Jack Fisher put jockey Hadden Frost in the irons to win by seven lengths. Fellow Marylander, Forrest Kelly rode his own Monstaleur for second.

Fletched – winner of the Amateur Training Flat

Finally, in the Amateur Training Flat, Forrest Kelly trained Fletched, owned by Black and Blue Stable, for the win with Lia McGuirk on board. James Slater rode Michael A. Smith’s Mercoeur, trained by Leslie Young, for second.
