Weston Hamilton, who is based out of Laurel Park, earned a 2018 Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey. His 2018 season capped off with 120 wins for $3,512,264 in earnings. At Laurel, Hamilton was second in wins for Laurel’s winter-spring meet, tied for second in wins for Laurel’s summer meet, and tied again for second in wins during Laurel’s fall meet. He also finished in the top 10 for earnings all seasons at Laurel Park.

Hamilton’s two leading horses for 2018 were Come Sundown and Timeless Curls. The 2016 Maryland-bred Come Sundown ran twice in 2018, winning both times for career earnings of $84,453. Bred in Maryland by Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGinnes, the son of Great Notion is owned by Steven T. Newby and trained by Dale Capuano.

The 2015 filly Timeless Curls, also trained by Capuano, won $127,340 in earnings with Hamilton in the irons in four wins, three seconds and one third in eight starts in 2018. Bred in Kentucky by Lantern Hill Farm LLC, Timeless Curls is owned by Sookdeen Pasram.
