Green Spring Valley Hounds

Maryland Horse Council

Since 1985, MHC has represented Maryland’s diverse equestrian community as the horse industry’s trade association. Protect and promote the equine industry to Maryland government and general public.

Maryland Horse Shows Association

Founded in 1932. Affiliate member of USHJA. One of the oldest continuous horse show associations in the U.S. To foster horsemanship and competitive riding while promoting the welfare of horses and ponies.

Maryland Jousting Tournament Association

Maryland Light Dragoons

A living history group portraying the War of 1812 cavalry of Maryland militia. Representing Captain Frederick Wilson’s troop (Kent Co.) that played key role in defeat of British forces at the Battle of Caulk’s Field.

A series of schooling shows designed to help both horses and riders. Fundraiser for various charities chosen by the MOHSS Junior Board with a portion of proceeds made from each show donated.

Maryland State Quarter Horse Association

Established in 1960 to promote and improve the American Quarter Horse breed and stimulate the sale, breeding, exhibition, general use and enjoyment of the Quarter Horse.

Maryland Steeplechase Association

Preservation and promotion of steeplechase racing in Maryland through the organization of the annual Governor’s Cup Series, the Jonathan Kiser Memorial Endowment Fund/Scholarship and other programs.

Officially authorized organization that represents, assists and promotes the interests of Maryland’s Thoroughbred owners and trainers.

Maryland Western Horse Association

MWHA is an all-breed horse association offering English, western, ranch and speed classes with divisions for riders of all levels. Beginners and new members are always welcome, though you don’t have to be a member to compete. Shows held at the Howard County Fairgrounds.
