Meet our Equiery Photographers
(updated March 27, 2012)
Dorothy Anderson has been a professional photographer since 2008. Her interest in photography began when she started taking photos of her animals, with her champion Dalmatians as willing subjects. Dog shows were followed by horses shows, where she now spends most of her weekends. When not taking photos, Dorothy does volunteer work for the local Rescue Squad. She is based out of La Plata where she cares for her retired horses. |

Katherine O. Rizzo's equine photography obsession began while she was still in high school, shooting photos of friends competing at local events with her mom's old Pentax manual camera. She purchased her first digital camera in 2002 and turned the obsession into a small business. Now, Katherine primarily shoots for The Equiery but still does portraits and such for clients and friends. Katherine is trained in the classical arts of watercolor, oil painting, pen and ink, pencil and charcoal, as well as digitally in a variety of graphic design programs. Outside of photography, Katherine actively teaches riding lessons, coaches the Academy of the Holy Cross hunter equitation team and the Waredaca and Redland Hunt pony clubs, and also trains horses and competes in eventing and dressage. She is a foxhunter and has recently taken up steeplechase racing. |
